This journal went friends only on the 17th of March 2007. That means you can't see what I write here unless you're on my friendslist. I did that because the internet is full of weirdos and members of my family and I don't want any of them to read my blog ;) However, the internet is a shiny happy place with lots of wonderful people and I'm always looking for new friends. If you want to be added, just leave a few words here about yourself and why you want to friend me, if we share fandoms and/or if we seem to have some stuff in common, I will more than likely friend you back. I'm currently a bit picky about adding new friends, I have already a long flist and I'd like to learn to know everyone. Comment only if you know we're meant to be together or something like that. Don't worry, I'll always answer to a comment!
Check out my profile to learn more about me.

Day 06 — Whatever tickles your fancy

To ready myself for Steven Moffat taking over as head writer of Doctor Who, I've watched a dozen of so clips of Coupling which will always be one of my favourite series ever. This video is a mash up of Jeff's best moments and I promise me that if you've never watched this tv show, you're missing something!

Cut some people. No hard feelings? (unless of course I've fucked up, I might have, I do that sometimes, so don't hesitate to ask me why or whatever) I try to keep my flist under 100 but it's tough because you guys are fucking awesome.
If you can see this entry, you're still in (yay?)

I think I've finally managed to tweak a decent layout, what do you think? I've put it on one of my other accounts. I quite like it, it's not too different from this one but I'm not too fond of brutal changes ;)

Day 02 — Your favorite movie

(source)
Take a guess.
While my favourite movie is The Two Towers, this bit will never cease to make me cry. All the fucking time, I swear.

(the title of this post is an awful joke that I made to a bunch of friends who are not really fans of LOTR because I was trying to remember the names of the big cities of Turkey and I realized that a number of these names bear a striking similarity to some places in Middle Earth like Zonguldäk and Isengard or Tuz Golu and Dol Guldur...Idk, I guess I'm just crazy)

ANON CRUSH MEME
my post
So, I went to see Avatar today, braving the snow and the cold that made me stay in my bed with my laptop for the past two days. And it was fucking amazing! I mean, wow, it is obviously incredibly gorgeous. The scenery was so real and yet so magical, sometimes the forest looked like the aliens/jellyfishes in The Abyss and sometimes it looked like nothing at all axcept a world where you just wanted to dive into. And the characters...DAMN. I'm really not someomes who enjoys motion-capture, especially when it comes to humans/humanoids, The Polar Express was just creepy, Beowulf was terrible looking - a bunch of corpses moving around with dead eyes. But this? Cameron and his team completely jumped over the uncanny valley, it looked so real! When we first saw Sigourney Weaver's Avatar, my mind was definitely blown. It was HER and yet it wasn't and...just wow. And the story was fine, a bit predictable of course and quite textbook but the emotional journey was dense enough to make us care and it was great to see the dumb jarhead become the leader of a revolution. Well done, there :D I'd put it on my Top 10 movies of 2009 but I realized that I didn't see much films at the cinema this year. But for the sake of it:
  1. Moon - Duncan Jones
  2.  Inglourious Basterds - Quentin Tarantino
  3. The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - Terry Gilliam
  4. Avatar - James Cameron
  5. Star Trek - JJ Abrams
  6. District 9 - Neill Blomkamp
  7. Watchmen - Zach Snyder
...hm, either that's a very geeky list or 2009 was a very geeky year. Seriously, there were a lot of movies this year that were fantastic and dealt with fantasy (even Tarantino's movie) it's great to see that making movies like these aren't seen like a waste of time anymore. I mean, both Moon and District 9 are remarkable examples of sci-fi movies that are so much more than about sci-fi and yet still manage to be awesome geeky dreams. I'm confusing, aren't I? But I know what I mean. 2009 was a great year for cinema and there are a lot of movies I haven't seen yet such as Up, Up in the Air, The Hurt Locker, 500 Days of Summer, The Road, A Single Man...and mainly because my local cinemas suck big balls and either won't play these movies or won't play them in English but dubbed and that's just rude. Oh, and I watched Veronika Decides to Die yesterday (and the day before, I watched Love Actually again. It's my obligatory Xmas movie!), it was great! I'd forgot how great Sarah Michelle Gellar can be, I loved how slow it was and yet so intense. Really good. I hope it'll be released.

I'd do the same with music but I did listen to a lot of CDs this year and it would be very long to see what the best was, so I'd just say that the Manic Street Preachers' new album is my #1 because it got me back into their music. Kasabian's second album is also one of the best this year, and that's why I'm seeing them in February, wheeee. Them Crooked Vultures is a supergroup that I expected to be awesome and they definitely are, one of the best sound of this year. BLUR FUCKING CAME BACK and it pleases my little heart. Oasis split up but that's not as if they were ever together. The Arctic Monkeys are finally men (and for a while, I had the same haircut as Alex Turner)and Franz Ferdinand made me dance like crazy. Hm, let's see...Grizzly Bear sent me to another planet while Phoenix made me proud of being French. I feel a bit stupid because I just can't get why everyone loves Animal Collective and I fucking saw Morrissey in concert this year.

Fuck yeah, 2009! I think I'm gonna do like last year, a little picspam or whatever. It was fun. Feel free to drop ideas of movies I should have watched, CDs I should have listened to and maybe why Animal Collective are so adored while all they do to me is making feel dizzy because of their weird album cover. And I didn't talk about tv because there's just too much and it doesn't seem as important to me.

RIP Edward Woodward (1 June 1930 - 16 November, 2009)

RIP Jocelyn Quivrin D: (February 14, 1979 - November 15, 2009)

An amazing British actor, who you should remember from The Wicker Man (original from 1973, not the one with the bees...) and most recently in Hot Fuzz. And a French one, extremely promising, aged only 30 who died tragically in a car accident. It fills me with sadness because he was really a talented actor, I remember seeing him as Rastignac and it actually made me read the book because he was so good.

They will be missed.

OMG. I thought we would never ever manage to get to the venue. My sister was supposed to take the train but there were all cancelled (there’s a strike apparently) and we ended completely stuck in the traffic. I’d never seen such a gridlock. We arrived at 8pm even though we left at 6 and it usually takes 10min to go to Lille Oo It was as if the gods didn’t want us to see Moz. Assholes!

BUT WE DID AND IT WAS FUCKING AMAZIIING. Me and my twin sneaked to the front like ninjas (I think we were 5th row? Which is great considering how late we were) I very much enjoyed Dolls & The Kicks (great singer!)

Morrissey seemed a bit tired but also very glad to be here. HE PLAYED CEMETRY GATES AND HOW SOON IS NOW!!! I can die happy now :’ He introduced himself as Alain Delon which made me laugh more than it should have xD No photos unfortunately because I only had my lousy cellphone but whatever, it was awesome. We were surrounded by wonderful noisy Belgians, one of them sang everything with his eyes closed and a hand on his heart, awww. However, one guy shouted at me because I was pushing him, wtf? It's a concert, dude, you're not alone in your room.

So, it was a great night! I think Morrissey should take a break from touring but I already want to see him again :)
